Deputy Ombudsman participates in workshop in Kyrgyzstan

On 28-29 of June Deputy Ombudsman and Head of the Civil and Political Rights Division Ineta Pilane participated as a trainer and expert from Latvia in a workshop on the (possible) human rights violations organized by Ludwig Boltzmann Institute of Human Rights. The workshop took place in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, in the context of the European Union Rule of Law project. Ineta Pilane shared experience and best practice of the Ombudsman’s Office on procedure for handling complaints. 

Within the framework of this project, on 30 of June, the Deputy Ombudsman also participated in the international conference “Improving mechanisms of citizens’ complaints and communications handling by state bodies” by presenting a report on the Ombudsman’s Office and its role with respect to human rights in Latvia.
