Right to Social Security

The purpose of the right to social security is to serve, as far as possible, a dignified existence. For the implementation of these rights, a social insurance system has been developed in Latvia, as well as a social assistance system, the main task of which is to provide support in situations where a person is unable to earn income and when no support from the State social insurance system is envisaged.
The State social insurance system includes, for example, the granting of pensions and unemployment, disability, maternity benefits. The social assistance system includes, for example, benefits provided by local governments for health care, the purchase of goods, rehabilitation, payment of debt related to the use of housing and other purposes.

Example: I would like to find out why my chances of receiving unemployment benefits are limited if I have left my job at my own will.
