Freedom of Association

Freedom of association guarantees the right to unite in associations, political parties and other public organisations for the attainment of any common objective which is not prohibited by law. Freedom of association can have a wide range of forms of expression — cultural, sport, arts, education, charity, ideological, interest groups and other associations of persons. Political parties, religious organisations and trade unions are special forms of expression of freedom of association.

Example: A group of online friends finds that they have a common interest in a particular football team and form an informal fan club that attends games and supports the team.
